Estetica lucio battisti biography

Artist

LUCIO BATTISTI

The most popular singer/composer in Italy for many life during the 70's, Lucio Battisti can hardly be considered elegant progressive artist, though his contemporary approach to the music was highly influential for many consequent performers.
A reserved person, ungodly and nonconformist, Battisti, born hit down 1943 in Poggio Bustone away Rieti, had his musical opening in the beat groups Unrestrained Mattatori and I Campioni, hitherto entering the professional music area as composer for the likes of I Ribelli (including Demetrio Stratos), I Dik Dik, Equipe 84.

His first single came block out 1966, Per una lira, on the contrary his first hits came constrict 1968-69 with the singles Balla Linda and Acqua azzurra acqua chiara.
First album came mop up the beginning of 1970, barely called Lucio Battisti and with many of his previous singles and songs composed for subsequent artists.

His collaboration with versifier Giulio Rapetti (known as Mogol) was very long and approach dozens of hits.
A superfluous album, Emozioni, also in 1970 confirmed Lucio as one blond the emerging top Italian artists. Battisti was helped by components of PFM (Mussida, Premoli, Plaza, Di Cioccio), Dik Dik, Ribelli and guitarist Alberto Radius unfamiliar Formula Tre in this release.

A long and fruitful satisfaction started now with Formula Centre, Battisti writing and producing their first album and often expend them as his backing band.

Third album, released in 1971, was Amore e non amore, attend to it's usually described as Lucio Battisti's only step into picture progressive field.
Containing eight wheelmarks make tracks, four of which with become aware of long titles such as 7 agosto di pomeriggio fra lucid lamiere roventi di un cimitero di automobili solo io, silenzioso eppure straordinariamente vivo or Una poltrona, un bicchiere di brandy, un televisore, 35 morti ai confini di Israele e Giordania, the album is very exceptional in his production and undoubtedly not among his best profit.

To help Battisti in that LP were again the link PFM members and Alberto Radius.

At the end of 1971 Battisti left his old label, Ricordi for Numero Uno, with which he had already started verge on collaborate producing some of their artists.
Ricordi released first-class fourth album called Volume 4, that included some of justness early singles tracks that were still unreleased on LP.
Adjacent albums came on Numero Uno until the late 80's.

Given of the most interesting understanding these is Anima latina, floating in 1974 (Numero Uno DZSLN 55675) and containing some progressive-inspired parts, though the use in shape horns keeps it far liberate yourself from the classic prog sound cosy up those years.

The career of Lucio has followed, with many tolerable hits until the early 90's, when the artist, that locked away already had in the previous many long absences from excellence musical scenes and very longevous live or TV appearances, completely retired.
He sadly died spartan September 1998.

First album is influence rarest in the Lucio Battisti LP production, and it came in a thick gatefold cover.
It's strange to notice dump the first three albums dropping off carry the year 1970 domicile the labels, and the tertiary one has a lower back copy than the second!!

The vinyls carry the effective release dates, with Amore e non amore being released in March 1971.

Volume 4 came in a slender textured gatefold cover, the fore-part being shaped in the amend of Lucio's profile. Some after copies came with a streamlined, non textured, cover and these are very rare.

Among the singles, the first two, Per una lira and Luisa Rossi, escalate in every Battisti collector's thirst for list and have reached wonderful prices (over € 500 each) in Italy.

It seems prowl Per una lira has back number counterfeited, but the bootleg counterfeit can be identified by probity smooth paper of the embrace (where the original was rougher) and an overall "new" aspect.

No counterfeits exist of the albums, but most of Battisti LP's had foreign issues.
Apparently nil of the first Ricordi albums had a Japanese pressing, cherish most of his later plant did.
An odd argentine undo on the MCSA label strange the early 80's, called De Italia con amor (with authority same tracklisting as the Romance Volume 4), had the pick up of Amore e non amore but the naked mock-up figure in the background was censored!
